My name –
My name is Sean D Sorrentino. I post under my real name, not a pseudonym. I figured that anyone with enough time would figure out who I was soon enough, so blogging anonymously didn’t make a lot of sense. There are several anti-gun blog trolls who make a sport out of “Outing” anonymous gun bloggers. I figure that they will have my address and phone number even if I try to hide from them, so why bother. My email address is Sean@SeanSorrentino.com
Currently Banned People-
MikeB – For details, see my post, Why is MikeB banned?
Reciprocal links –
I do not participate in reciprocal links. I realize that is something of a departure from the norm. My blogroll is built directly from my Google Reader subscription list. If I have a blog on my blogroll, I am subscribed to that blog and read it every day in Google Reader. If you think I should be reading your blog, feel free to email me about it. Remember the golden rule of blogging, “Pitch the post, not the blog.” Send me a link to your post. If I like it, I will link the post. If I like your writing, I will subscribe to your blog. If I stay subscribed to your blog, you’ll end up in the blogroll. The fact that I have you on my blogroll in no way obligates you to blogroll me.
Comments Policy –
You may post any comments you like. I’ll put up with a lot of rude behavior, but if you make criminal threats, you’re going to be reported to the police. It is possible to get banned. Try not to join the hall of shame above. Try to stay on topic, though if a conversation happens to drift, no big deal. I do not moderate comments. I get an email every time a comment is posted, so even if I don’t respond right away, I know about the comment. I try to participate in the conversation, but real life happens, so sometimes I am not available. My email is available. It isn’t posted directly on the site, but most reasonably computer literate people will be able to get Blogger to cough it up. You may send me email at any time if it is a comment not really suited to any particular post.
Tip-Jar/Amazon Wish List –
I now have a “Donate” button on the right, labeled “Contribute to the ‘Buy a Kriss Vector’ fund. I am under no illusions that my brand of free ice cream is good enough to warrant people sending me cash or prizes. If you are a rich person with entirely too much disposable income that you want to give to a poor blogger who doesn’t have nearly enough guns or ammunition, feel free to send some my way. In any case, the fact that you care enough about my opinion to actually read it is thanks enough for me.
News, Tips, and Confidentiality Policy –
If you have news, tips on news, or any information that you think would be of value to me as a blogger, please email it to me. If you wish to remain anonymous, use one of the free email programs such as Gmail or Yahoo Mail to create a new email account. I abide by the normal journalistic practice of protecting my sources. I will not, however, shield you from the consequences of criminal activities. Be very careful not to send me evidence that you are involved in criminal activities. Should I suspect that you are a criminal, I will turn you in to the police immediately. I will not, however, reveal any information about the identity of genuine whistleblowers.
Evaluation of products –
In the unlikely event that you are a firearm or firearm accessory manufacturer who would like me to evaluate and review one of your products, please email me. I will be scrupulously honest in my evaluation, and if it sucks, I’ll say so. I will also be honest about the product being given to me for evaluation, but I will do so because I respect my readers, not because the Federal Trade Commission has a policy. My FTC policy is that this is my blog and I’ll write anything on it that I like. If the FTC, or any employee of the FTC doesn’t like it, they may register their displeasure by chapping their lips on my backside.
