You know, if this is a sample of what the Des Moines Register foists upon the people, I think that they should just stick to sponsoring bike rides. The author of this article apparently has a problem with the newly proposed Castle Bill.
It gets worse from there.
Our opponents are being unmasked as lunatics who have not even bothered to read the bill that they are criticizing. In this day and age it’s easy to link directly to the text of any proposed law. You can read the proposed bill, titled “House File 573” at the Iowa Legislature’s site. It would have taken this columnist about 10 minutes to read the law and realize that everything she said was utter horse manure, but instead she allowed her hatred of guns to get the better of her.
In a way I should be happy. If this is the best the opposition can do, we’ve won. On the other hand, there’s something deeply disturbing about people who argue utter garbage in the face of every bit of evidence to the contrary. It angers me to have to put up with people who are convinced that you are stupid enough to believe the things she says. It angers me that people like her are so blinded by their ideology that they can’t face reality.
Go read the whole article and leave your own comment. While you’re there, “like” my comment. It’s a good way to let the Des Moines Register know how you feel about people using their paper to lie so completely about the law.

Great catch. I left a long comment that shot down every one of her lies. She has always been a well known gun hater. Most of us wish she would move back to NYC or even India, and leave us alone. Just another one of the Registers liberal idiot pisswits.
ReplyDeleteI go to the range today instead of reading the paper, and I miss crap like this in my own backyard. Glad I didn't read the (lack of) opinion section before I left.
ReplyDelete"Just imagine the possibilities. Your spouse throws a plate of spaghetti at you in a heated argument. Shoot her. A mentally ill person enters your home uninvited and reaches into his pocket. Fire away. The law would be on your side if you said you felt threatened."
ReplyDeleteUm, are these commonplace in the homes of antis? I mean wtf, you get angry enough at your spouse to throw things at them? Really now? And there are mentally ill people just trudging through your home all the time?
This really says a lot about them lol
This is hilarious--now a "gun control" advocate who commented on that ridiculous article is begging CSGV for help with the mean gun rights advocates:
ReplyDeleteElizabeth Shriver Yes, in the comments to this article: http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20120212/BASU/302120051?fb_comment_id=fbc_10150588106284014_21145522_10150593138909014
Elizabeth Shriver Can anyone help me out?
I read through the comments replying to her, and can't find any that are "harass[ing], intimidat[ing], or threaten[ing]," but I'm looking forward to seeing what CSGV offers up in the way of "help."
