The rest of the story in Durham

Yesterday I posted a video from NBC17. Because they haven’t broken out the video section for just the Brady Campaign/NCGV vigil, I had to post the entire 11 o’clock news video. They led the news with the shootings in Durham. Given that they were heading straight into the “Too Many Victims” anti-gun rally, I thought it was kind of funny, kind of sad. I am sure that lots of people watching it from the other side nodded their heads and said to themselves, “This is why we need to get rid of guns.”

Here it is again.


Here’s the rest of the story.

Two Durham residents died Sunday night after a person fired gunshots into a house on Dawkins Street, Durham police said. 
Officers responded to a shooting call just after 9 p.m. at 1212 Dawkins St. When they arrived, they found (Victim 1), 24, dead inside the house. 
(Victim 2), 22, of 700 Morreene Road, was transported to Duke University Hospital with gunshot wounds. He died a short time later, police said. 

Two died in the shooting, but who were they?

Both were convicted criminals, the second was a multiple felon. This is sadly typical of murder in the US. It is generally criminals killing criminals, not random murder of innocent people.

  1. As you say some looked at the video and thought guns were the problem. These people don't understand rational thought. The problem is too many felons and not enough innocent people being armed.
