Final Update: To order a shirt, Go Here
UPDATE: After emailed conversation with WND Editor Joseph Farah, they have pulled the shirt from their e-store! He has given me his personal assurance that a full investigation will commence as soon as everyone gets back to the office on Monday!
Mr. Farah, I want to thank you for your quick response to this situation and I look forward to discussing this with you on Monday. It is clear from your swift handling of this that you are committed to honest dealings and I applaud you for it.
Due to the nature of the Internet, a post once published can never really go away. I have retained the post below for you to read, but be assured that Mr. Farah has handled this already and no further emails to him are necessary, unless you wish to email him with your thanks for his proper handling of it.

I told my wife yesterday that I was “living the dream.” My words were going to appear on a t-shirt. What little boy didn’t see slogan t-shirts and wish that he said something funny enough to appear on a t-shirt? Well apparently I’ve reached another milestone in my life. My words, on my t-shirt, have been stolen andare being marketed by the World Net Daily Superstore. Read the UPDATE above

I got an email from David Codrea, one of the two original “Online Reporters” of the Gunwalker scandal, and the person who suggested that my phrase “Am I the only person on the planet who didn’t get guns from the ATF?” should be put on a t-shirt. He sent me this link. As you can see, the same phrase appears on the WND shirt. I’ve gotten a screen capture as well.
Here’s what I need from you guys. Please go to the link, and offer a review of the shirt. Click the “Submit Your Review” and tell them to immediately remove this item from sale. Tell them that they need to contact me and apologize. It would also be a good idea for them to tell me who gave them the idea because it’s unlikely that the exact same wording sprung directly from their minds independently. If you know how to get a hold of WND directly do that as well. The email address of the Editor and CEO is (The email address has been removed) the guy’s name is Joseph Farah.
Then I would like you to spread the message far and wide that WND’s store is stealing the idea of a blogger. Send them a link to this page. Tell them that if they want the REAL shirt, they can buy it from me. And since I am directly in contact with the real Gunwalker “Online Reporters” my shirt is the one that they will be wearing.
I’m not going to make a whole lot of money on this t-shirt deal. But it’s really irritating that someone is just stealing the idea. If you want a shirt, PayPal is below. Pick the size you want. I’ll be placing the order with the screen printer on Monday 10 July 2011. If you have a bulk order, contact me directly and we can work out special pricing.
Update: Unfortunately I have had to disable multiple purchasing and raise shipping rates to $6 per shirt. I am sorry to do this, but if I don't, I'll lose money shipping them. Again, BULK orders, contact me. We'll work something out. ANYONE who has already purchased a shirt at the previous shipping rate will have their purchase honored at that shipping rate.

Do you RSS? Don't know what an RSS Feed is?
Save time and read all the latest blog news first.

Sent them a product review, but I'm sure it's a moderated 'forum' and you'll never see the reviews. WND lost me a while back as a consistent reader. They lost me for good with this stunt.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the whole deal. Will be ordering one payday....from YOU.
Still shows a score of 0 for reviews, and since one is the lowest score you can get they're not recording/showing the reviews.
ReplyDeleteReviewed.
ReplyDeleteI hope that my contribution helps.
Also, I can't wait to have my shirt from you!
It was time for an entire line of Gunwalking tees MONTHS ago .
ReplyDeleteAnd now with the Honduran MS13 connection and Holder lurking in Florida , Moonwalker is poised to replace the mud shark in our popular mythology . Your only chance to make anything off of this before it is over (marketing wise) is to act decisively and swiftly and get the product out to -US- . The one in a hundred that would actually get a gun walking joke . You know where to find us . Ignore the bastards and concentrate the effort on making a name for yourself . It's well past time these bastards were Zumboed for sedition .
@James, I've already left a review. I think you are right about the moderation, but it is Sunday morning after all.
ReplyDelete@LC Scotty: I saw that too. I assume that they don't have anyone working this morning
@McThag: Thanks! I'll get them out as soon as the printer gets them done. I want one too!
Review left and blog post on DOOT.
ReplyDeletehttp://daysofourtrailers.blogspot.com/2011/07/world-net-daily-steals-t-shirt-idea.html
I posted a review, but notice that there seem to be none showing so I suspect mine won't either.
ReplyDeleteBut I spread the word anyway, to the extent I can. That's pretty low.
I got a "page not found" after the Submit. Possibly they're getting the message?
ReplyDeleteAdded my 2 cents worth at WND store. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI also wrote a rather scathing review, I doubt it will ever see the light, but I made it fairly clear they were in the wrong. I included both the link to this page and to the No lawyers - Only Guns and Money page with your comment right on top. Ordered one of your XXL's.
ReplyDeleteI'm very sensitive on the subject of having one's work stolen and sold by someone else. I left a review (we'll see if any of these start appearing), sent an email to Farah, and posted that email on my blog ( http://carlbussjaeger.blogspot.com/2011/07/wnd-steals-t-shirt-idea.html ).
ReplyDeleteLooking around their store, it looks like they took the t-shirt down. So, even if they haven't apologized yet, it looks like they aren't still selling the thing.
ReplyDeleteUPDATE: WND DOES THE RIGHT THING! Update added to the post. After a quick email conversation with WND Editor Joseph Farah, he has pulled the shirt from sale and will commence an investigation on Monday when everyone gets back to the office. Please join me in thanking the WND Editor and CEO for his swift resolution of this issue.
ReplyDeleteThat's great news! Updated my blog post.
ReplyDeleteJust making it disappear could be nothing more than, "Oh, heck. We got caught." I'll reserve judgment for now; I still think an admission of wrong-doing and a PUBLIC apology are in order.
ReplyDelete"...full investigation will commence as soon as everyone gets back to the office on Monday!"
Is that anything like a police department investigating itself for killing an innocent resident in a wrong-house no-knock raid?
Pardon my dubiousness; WND just hasn't been on my list of reliable and classy acts for a long time. "Credit where credit is due" has always been one of their shortcomings.
@Bear: Let's give them a chance. We don't know where it started, but we certainly know that Mr. Farah put a stop to it.
ReplyDeleteSince the scandal is spreading, you should change it to say, "US Govt" or maybe "Eric Holder" instead of just ATF. If it was me, I'd cross out ATF in red, and add the new text like a correction. But - it's your show (bows deferentially and leaves...)
ReplyDelete@Sean, 1:20PM- Well... I'm glad that's your call and not mine, because Farah just told me that an apology would be "disgusting".
ReplyDeleteWeird: I could see his attorney telling him to say, "inappropriate at this time" or "premature" or even "appropriate action is under consideration". But... "disgusting"?
@Bear: He already apologized and I'm satisfied with his apology. The immediate problem is over, let's just let the rest play as he gets enough time to identify the miscreant.
ReplyDeleteJust order one, Sean,
ReplyDeleteThanks for making these up!
