What kind of person takes his ex-girlfriend and 9 kids hostage? (*Video*)

Durham Police found themselves in a standoff Tuesday morning.

Around 8:30 a.m., someone called police about a domestic disturbance with a weapon at an apartment at McDougald Terrace on Wabash Street at Ridgeway Avenue. McDougald Terrace is a low-income housing project not far from North Carolina Central University's campus.
A Durham police spokesperson said when officers arrived, 37-year-old (Suspect) was holding an ex-girlfriend and nine children hostage inside an apartment.

I don’t think you will be surprised that the State has a file on this guy.

Suspect

He’s an absconder from probation, and now has more charges to keep him in prison for a little while.

He now faces10 counts of second-degree kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a weapon of mass destruction(*) (sawed-off rifle), breaking and entering, assault on a female and communicating threats.

What a jerk.

*In North Carolina, Short Barreled Rifles, Short Barreled Shotguns, machine guns, and suppressors are considered “Weapons of Mass Destruction.”
