Even if you don’t have a gun, distance favors the trained marksman. The difficulty of hitting what you are aiming at increases with the distance to the target, and is even higher for a moving target.
In a story about a pair charged with one shooting, this bit tells the story of a prior robbery/shooting. See how that went down? They took the money from him first and shot him while he was running away second. They got what they said they were after. I get the impression that what they were really after was hurting or killing someone, and the robbery was just a pretext to get to the shooting part.
Again we learn the basic rule. It’s not the wallet that’s at issue here. It’s the fact that they are threatening your life.
Both suspects are 18, so any juvenile records are sealed, but the shooter in this second instance had an adult misdemeanor record. Good to see that someone under 18 concealing a weapon wasn’t given any prison time. Who knows what a terror he would be if he went to prison and learned how to be a violent criminal!
