As life lessons go it’s not likely to be useful to me, but it’s a good rule of thumb never to try to take your probation officer’s gun away from him.
In fact, if someone has a gun, it’s probably not a good idea to touch it. I’m pretty sure that rule was covered in kindergarten, rule 11, “No fighting over toys.”
Obviously anyone that was on probation was a criminal. This guy was on probation for misdemeanor larceny, but he had a prior felony record.
