But hey, it’s only a misdemeanor!

Am I wrong to want the death penalty here?

(Suspect), 45, of 605 Ashley Lane, was charged Saturday with misdemeanor child abuse, assault on a child under age 12 and assault on a female.
The warrant states that (Suspect) threw a 9-month-old boy against a wall, giving him a laceration and large bruise on his forehead. (Suspect) pushed a woman into the wall and bit her left breast, the warrant states.

But in their infinite wisdom, none of these charges are felonies. Nor were his previous charges, which netted him only probation.

Do they think he’s going to suddenly get better? Will he spontaneously develop a conscience and stop assaulting women and children?
