Why hoplophobes moderate comments

The best part about comment moderation is never having to face an argument you can’t ignore. My favorite gun grabber Joan Peterson in her latest bed wetter makes the claim

You decide.

The question presented by this case is not whether the Second Amendment protects a “collective right” or an “individual right.” Surely it protects a right that can be enforced by individuals. But a conclusion that the Second Amendment protects an individual right does not tell us anything about the scope of that right.

But since Joan can’t argue with the facts, she just refuses to post my comment refuting her. Apparently she thinks that sticking her fingers in her ears while saying “La La La La” constitutes a winning argument. This is why we win. You can’t convince the loonies, but normal humans can read and understand plain English.

  1. Interestingly, she allows my comment to go through - granted, she ingored its content, and also permitted Laci's ad hominem comment through, but at least my first one made it.

The real question, however, is whether or not my second comment gets approved... If it does not, I have it saved, and it will be the root of an all-too-amusing post at my site.

And that is what the anti-rights nuts of America simply do not seem to comprehend... they can, indeed, control the debate in their particular corners of the 'verse. But only that. Killing the conversation at their places does not actually kill the conversation - it simply moves it to larger, more frequented, and higher-page-ranked sites. Is that really what they want?

  2. I laughed pretty hard when you got posted. It's like she had to go and ask her Brady masters how to argue with my statement, and when you commented she uncorked her pat statement. No amount of argument will change the fact that 9 of 9 Supremes said "individual right." Whatever they said later about militias is immaterial.

  3. *shock* She actually posted by second comment... and still has not posted yours.

I feel like a modern-day Diogenes with his lamp, looking for a consistent man amongst the anti-rights nuts... and while the Internet provides one hell of a lot of wattage, I am not making a whole lot of progress.

Predictably, though, rather than dealing with the facts of the matter, Japete immediately went for the "attack the messenger" tactic. Love it.

  4. Whoops, she did not let my third comment through, though she had no problems authorizing a blatantly ad hominem attack from Sparky and more nonsensical bulldren from Laci, both written after mine.

Ahh, the joy of whimsical Reasoned Discourse. Gvae me all the blogfodder I needed... :)

Like what you read? Have extra money and want to donate it to a good cause? Look on the right sidebar for the Paypal button labled "Contribute to the 'Buy a Kriss Vector' fund" All proceeds go to funding my purchase of a Kriss Vector SBR and suppressor.

Anyone (except for MikeB302000) can post.

Don’t be more of an ass than me. Your words, though they are on my blog, are your own. I didn’t write them. If they are stupid, ill considered, or bigoted, it’s your problem.
