We started our actual vacation with a full day at the Lipica Stud Farm, where the Lipizzaner horses originated.

So it looks like the Australian police are resorting to mass arrests to curb their gun violence problems.

A major crackdown on the gangs and guns behind Sydney's violent shooting epidemic has resulted in 555 people being arrested and 908 charges laid.

That’s a lot of people in jail.

It was stepped up over the weekend as detectives targeted bikie gangs and others behind almost 60 shootings that have played out in western and south-western suburbs this year.

60 shootings is a lot.

There were 908 charges laid, including 107 for drink-driving offences, 14 guns seized and 1401 intelligence reports compiled.

So, in a country that is only one step behind (Formerly Great) Britain in draconian gun control has to arrest 555 people because they can’t get their gun crime under control.

Tell me again how gun control stops crime. Look me in the eye when you say that.

We all know that gun control does not equal lack of crime. No matter how many times the gun grabbers tell us that gun control will make the world a better place, things like this teach us better

A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in a Nottingham street.

In (Formerly Great) Britain, handguns are totally banned and long guns are tightly regulated. Yet some fool ran about in the street shooting up cars.

Anyone who claims that gun control stops crime needs his head examined.

Meanwhile in Rebecca Peters Paradise: Worst Possible Scenario edition

It’s bad enough when criminals shoot each other, but it’s worse when they shoot innocent bystanders.

THE outlaw motorcycle gang war in Queensland escalated into what police yesterday called "the worst possible scenario", with a woman who was an innocent bystander shot inside a busy Gold Coast shopping centre.

The 45-year-old woman was taken to hospital in a stable condition suffering from what a Queensland Ambulance spokesman said was a gunshot wound to the pelvis.

And not a legal gun in sight. The guns were fired by criminals, at criminals, yet Australia has strict anti gun laws. It seems that the only people affected by gun laws are the people who follow the laws about not shooting people.

I always have my dead wife in the truck, officer!

Some sicko was taking his dead wife for a drive and got caught in Galax, VA.

Police in Galax, Va., arrested a Wake County man Wednesday afternoon after finding his wife's body in his truck, authorities said.

The arrest ended a bizarre episode for the Wake County Sheriff's Office, which had received a call at 9 a.m. about a body at a home on Creedmoor Road.

A neighbor called 911 to report seeing a body at 14925 Creedmoor Road, north of Falls Lake, but when deputies arrived, they couldn't find anything.

So what sort of person drives around with his dead wife in the truck?

Suspect

That kind.

Meanwhile in Sarah Brady Paradise: Unhappy Ending edition

 You can imagine that this was not the ending that the patrons of this place were hoping for.

Two men have been arrested and weapons have been seized after an armed robbery at a Brighton massage parlour.

Brighton Belles massage parlour in Montpelier Road was raided at about 03:30 BST, Sussex Police said.

Officers said staff were threatened with what appeared to be a handgun and a knife and several hundred pounds of cash was taken.

What a nasty thing to do.

So where, in this ostensibly handgun free nation, did the criminals get a handgun? Or is it only the law abiding people who had to turn in their guns?
